Giovanni Malagò re-elected President of Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI)

Giovanni Malagò was re-elected as President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) on Thursday 11 May to serve a second four year term.

Malagò overcame Sergio Grifoni, the former President of the Italian Orienteering Federation, by 67 votes to two. Franco Chimenti, President of the Italian Golf Federation, and Olympic gold medallist in sailing from Sydney 2000, Alessandra Sensini were appointed as Vice-Presidents.

Roberto Fabbricini was confirmed as the Secretary General while Olympic silver medallist in rowing at Sydney 2000, Carlo Mornati, was confirmed as Vice-Secretary.
